| Soajdjfjdj I have read this previously on ffn and I couldn’t sleep tonight and got caught thinking about Aragorn whump so here I am for a reread. This is. So good. Like it seriously feels like…a creative writing essay, it could be a short story with no further context or universe and it would be *really good*. Instead it does have context and it’s *even better*. The world-building, life-building, character-building here is wonderful. This guy(?) who is world-weary and largely impassive to the world, yet still carries understanding and even some small kindness, I just. All of it. Aragorn’s eyes suddenly glowing like true-silver because his prayer has given him HOPE and DETERMINATION and those are the most important things of all. And that is actually the catalyst for this stranger to choose to give him just enough of the outside help he needs to indeed survive. Was that captain in fact Aragorn? I think so but I forget. Cause he decides to return at the end to go back and make reparations or whatever, I havent reread the second chapter yet. Also before that spark is lit, his eyes being absolutely dull and dead is also wonderful :) anyways I love my boy but I also love him being tortured | |

| A remarkable story again from this amazing author. Penetrating visualization of suffering and mercy. This author truly knows her Tolkien, survival skills, medieval terminology. The background of Canafinwe must be a story unto itself. I'm grateful for her talent. | |

| I really enjoyed the way you shaped this chapter from a totally different point of view - an old man reflecting on the gruel habits of his own people. No wonder you managed a reward! Beside - I like this different setting, giving some insight to the world beyond Anduin ( Tolkien never discovered that in detail). | |

| Lovely as always! I look forward to any more chapters to come! P.S. I don't know what it takes to post a chapter, so I won't beg for more by tomorrow, but I do look forward to more as soon as possible! :) Author Reply: Thank you so much! I'll post the second part stat. Cheers! | |

| We know that the one he has helped is the one who led those who slew the old man's sons; but there is hope here of a kind the old basket weaver barely remembers. A worthy thing the old man has done, and he shall know a reward he perhaps may never appreciate in this life.... Author Reply: Yes; and it is those unknown rewards that are often the greatest. Thank you as always for sharing your insight! | |

| Is this a rewrite of am earlier story. It seems familiar. As noted before you are very good with vivid imagery whether Arsgorn is hot or cold. Thank you. Author Reply: I wrote it for Teitho years ago, but only just now got around to posting it here. I'm very pleased to know the imagery comes across well. Thank you so much! | |
