How could I miss this chapter? Somehow, it must have escaped my eyes ;-) Frodo could see the pain in the wizard's eyes. In a few decades more or less, he'd be reunited with Bilbo. It would be a lot longer for Gandalf. Under certain circumstances it is indeed a comfort to know that lifetime is limited (for mortals). Not so for Gandalf! At least Gandalf and Frodo have each other to share their grief. Author Reply: Yes, Gandalf knows how long it will be until they are reunited!

I'm looking forward to reading the chapter in which Sam joins them. Author Reply: I am too.

Sorry it has taken so long to get here to read and review, been so busy. Gentle chapter about a sad event, but glad Frodo knows reunion is coming and he has Sam to look forward to seeing. Merry Christmas, Happy Yule/New Year! Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you, dear! Yes, Frodo will now be focusing on Sam's eventual arrival.

I'm very much enjoying these 300-word glimpses. Such gentle, loving gifts! Each one is so perfect. Author Reply: Thank you, dear! I'm so glad you see them that way! Sometimes it's hard keeping the word count right.

At least the two of them had a full life beside one another, and these three have one another with whom they can know comfort. Author Reply: They will find much comfort with one another as they learn to live without Bilbo's presence among them.
