Oh, THIS was just great! I loved this piece! I dearly loved Aragorn's thoughts on this, and Theoden's cheeky grin really was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Ha, that was perfect! What a fun little fic. Any chance you'll write another chapter with Theoden remembering it when he figures out Aragorn was Thorongil?

"But, if you didn’t want to feast, why didn’t you stop?” LOL. lord, if I only had a dollar for every time I asked myself that same question during my college years. Charming stories MP. And why is it that we never seem to remember our condition when the next celebration rolls around?

Now for review #3 from me. :D In cast I failed to mention, THANK YOU for this. And because I've already pointed out how much I liked the poignant ending, this time I'll point out how much I giggled at the beginning. I was tickled at the idea of some little boy wandering through the Golden Hall splashing all the passed-out drunks with water even before I figured out it was Theoden. After I knew that, it was even funnier. And now of course, I'm sitting here wondering if, upon being released from Saruman's spell, Theoden laid eyes on Aragorn and thought, "Great Bema, it's that drunken lout I woke up when I was a kid!" :D Of course, he wouldn't have, but that's the crazy direction my mind travels at times. Thanks for a terrific story, my friend! (And SoA is being a little glitchy... hopefully this doesn't post a dozen times.)

Théoden, oh my goodness. Someday they'll laugh and reminisce about this. To them, he was simply Thorongil, the man who’d shot a boar. Not the living embodiment of ancient nobility or the last hope for a kingdom’s renewal, but simply a man who’d hunted well and managed to feed a great hall for an evening. Doubtless true, and how delightful that he can just be a common man... once in awhile.

Oh I wish Theoden could have lived long enough to tell Arwen this tale. She would have laughed long and hard. Somehow I doubt Aragorn ever told anyone except perhaps Eldarion to warn him about visiting Rohan. I also loved the character analysis that Aragorn was truly relaxed and enjoying himself. Thanks for a great story.

I LOVE the title, and Thorongil's conclusion as to why he let himself go native as he did. A delightful tale, and I DO hope Cairistiona likes it!
