One Who Sticks Closer than a Brother  by Lindelea 3 Review(s)

Interestingly, birds eat 25%-50% of their body weight per day, while humans eat 1%-2% of theirs per day. So it's a better description of hobbits to say they eat like birds -- Aragorn has it right ;)

Author Reply: Some friends and I actually debated this point once upon a time. I still remember the satisfaction of exploring together the concepts of hobbit metabolism and growth and development and cultural differences and even difference in temperament between Hobbits and the other races in Middle-earth. We had so much fun!

LOL! Wise Diamond!

I love Merry and Pippin's cousinly banter--but yeah, probably a good idea to get them back to the matter at hand. They'd keep arguing even after the dawn, since they are not trolls...

What an interesting plan; not a chance of it going awry, I hope.

Author Reply: LOL, I think Diamond learned something when Tolly was disgraced for wagering too much on a pony race, which indirectly led to his near-banishment... although Pippin has more gold than he knows what to do with, it still wouldn't be a good thing for him to wager it all on a single throw...

A most handy and "merciful" manner to "correct" those who have been gulled by the Thain, the Master, and the King himself! Heh!

Author Reply: Whew, good thing they all have consciences, or it might be a nightmare to work for any of them.
