Forging Hope  by Ellie 5 Review(s)

It strikes me how much more comfortable Elves are with physical contact between strangers of opposite genders than what humans are.

Author Reply: elves have a different perspective on life and I think a more practical one.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

There was only emptiness where his memories should have been.

How sad, that the names are familiar, but there are no memories that stir when he hears them.

Interesting, that she might have hidden his presence from searchers while he was unconscious. I wonder what will happen when he goes to search.

Author Reply: It is indeed very sad what he does not remember. He really has endured a lot in his long life.

I don't think that his presesnce was hidden from potential searchers by the one who found him. She really is a genuinely kind person.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much!

He's starting all over again and that can't be easy. He's lucky Faroniel was willing to take him in and teach him. In many ways he's almost like a child needing help. Not telling her he was leaving, though, isn't a good thing, but most males of any species don't think about things like that. *grin*

Author Reply: It has got to be extremely difficult to be in his position and he did luck out in finding Faroniel or really being found by her. He seems to be in the mindset of a caged animal, so it is no wonder he didn't reason through the consequences of his actions. I'm not saying males tend to behave like caged animals, though it kind of sounds like I am, but then again... LOL

Thank you so very much for reading and reviewing. I do appreciate it very much!

He certainly has reason to seek out his own people, and I can understand his fears of the lady's motivations. It is time to be back to his own responsibilities.

I grieve for the brother-in-law's attitude.

Love the name she gives him, which is definitely apropos. But wouldn't she know Finderato as Finrod instead? That, I understand, was the name he was known as within Middle Earth by its own citizens.

Author Reply: I have to imagine that there were some pretty negaitve feelings among those who were left behind when other able-bodied men were called to go to the war to fight beside the Elves. I had not explored this concept in Middle-Earth wars until this story. I've been surprised by how strongly some of these characters feel about this.

As for Finrod versus Findarato, Arafinwe speaks only Quenya at the beginning of this chapter and is conversing with Faroniel in that language about a book written in that language. Once he learns Sindarin he is more apt to use Sindarin names for folk as is she. I think she was hoping that, considering he was from Valinor, using the names folk would have had in Valinor would have helped jog his memory. As we discovered, it really did not help at all.

We'll see soon how it goes for Arafinwe trying to seek out his own kind once again.

Thank you so very much for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much!

Hi Ellie another beautiful chapter.Full of hope despite the loss. Hope our they get together very soon. They need one another, even if they don't relies it at the moment. Can't wait for the next chapter. Hope you are staying warm and feeling well. LOL Galathil

Author Reply: It is good to hear from you again :-)

I'm glad you are enjoying the story so far. There is hope despite the loss, but there are too many unanswered questions for Arafinwe to be at peace right now. Perhaps his search for the army will turn up something for him.

We are staying warm, but I am ready for winter to give up and go away. The flu season is landing the occasional blow on our family. Just got the latest victim healed and back to school. I hope the others don't get any ideas...

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much!
