| Grinning at the depth of relationship sketched in this brief scene. It is always handy to have a scathing word or phrase tucked away in your back pocket. I love the description of Elrond's artwork. Map? I'm afraid I'm reading too quickly -- to fit this in, in the limited time I have this morning. And I'm guessing at the identity of the "old friend"... Author Reply: Thank you very much, Lindelea, for reading, and I'm glad you liked it. Gildor has definitely learned the use of collecting the odd scathing phrase, spending so many yéni as Lindan's friend as he has. Lindan, however, has never been impressed; he simply tells Gildor to stop being such a pompous Golda. I imagine Elrond learning many things in Gil-Galad's court, map-making only one of them. I do not imagine him as being one of those scholars who are bad with a pen (in any sense of the phrase). As far as the "old friend": I really wasn't trying to be that mysterious. ;) | |
