| It is amazing how seemingly easily Rosie can handle all sorts of problems with her children: small problems with small children and big problems with big children. But Sam is also quite innovative when help is needed: Little Robby looked quite confused to see his mother feeding this interloper, but Sam distracted him with a rusk of honey-bread. "You are a big brother now, Robin-a-bobbin!" Author Reply: Sam is pretty awesome, too! But this was a mother's day fic, so he gladly took a back seat to his Rosie! | |

| An excellent decision on Elanor's part, and a good example for Arwen to think on for when her own time of motherhood comes. Author Reply: Yes, well Elanor's decision was not hard for her when she had been so well taught by her parent's about her Uncle Frodo! And I think Arwen may be in awe of our Rosie! | |

| Lovely! (clapping hands in delight) Robin-a-bobbin This nickname makes me smile. Rose is indeed a very wise mother. Consequences are usually necessary (as well as educational), even when there is forgiveness... Good for you, getting this published today. My Mother's Day story is only half-finished at present. Should I publish it several days (or weeks) late or wait until next year, I wonder? We are in the last throes of sorting through the last of the boxes in cellar and attic, and then the "For Sale" sign can finally go up! Author Reply: I thought it sort of a hobbity nickname; Sam calls Robin that in my story "Sam the Turtle Goes to Mordor", so I figure it would be a family nickname. Rose is quite wise! (Even when she's on the verge of giving birth!) Oh, I'd say whichever appeals to you. I'd rather see it sooner than later, but I don't wish to be greedy. Good luck with the house sale, sweetie! I hope it all goes smoothly (which is much more important than quickly). | |

| Rose really is a wise mum. I have to hand it to her managing 13 children. I could never have come close to handling even a quarter that number. Now I'm wanting to know what happen between Elanor and the bully and how the Queen handled the situation. Happy Mother's Day. Author Reply: The episode with Elanor and Lady Haleth is my story A: Like An Antagonized Arwen" in my "Alphabet for Middle-earth" anthology. I could barely handle one. It's amazing to me how some mothers of large families can do it. I have a customer at work, a young mother of six darling little kids all under ten, five blondes and one wee redhead. She was in today and I noticed she's expecting again. Those kids are beautifully behaved! They stay with her, the older ones holding the littler ones' hands. They're not perfect--sometimes one may start to handle something or wander off, but she only has to tell them once, and in a very mild voice, to stop, and they do. I am totally in awe of her! | |
