| Oh, boy; that hobbit'll talk your ear off! But then, I guess all hobbits are that way. And founder! Ugh; I remember when *my* horse foundered -- no wonder he didn't think he'd be able to get many errands done! What a great descriptive chapter ~ I can tell you've made a study of this kind of thing. I mostly have to rely on my imagination, and sometimes that just doesn't do the subject justice. Can't wait for the dinner party! Author Reply: Actually, I've done about two month's worth of research for this -- it's ironic that I'm putting in more time on this fanfic than I ever did for my professors at university. Hmm -- maybe I should email Dr. Hesselink a copy! I am so enjoying writing Bandy's dialog. I think I'm going to give him an expanded role over what I had planned for him! Thanks for the review! | I'm enjoying each new chapter as it arrives. Your characterizations are gems, drawing readers in and keeping us very entertained. I confess, I can't see the end, but I don't care as long as you continue. For personal satisfaction, I would have loved a little more play on “I’ll overlook the bow for this once,” said Aragorn solemnly. “It would not be the first time I have been told by a Hobbit that I do not look regal.” Such possibilities! Thanks for a delightful story. Author Reply: Well, Lyllyn, one of the reasons you can't see where I'm headed is that I'm so verbose I haven't really geared up the plot yet! I'm glad you're being entertained by this. And don't worry -- Bandy is going to get a little more "page time" than I had originally intended. I love writing his dialog! | Oh, what a lovely interaction between the Hobbit and the king! Again, such marvelous detail on the noise and bustle of the marketplace, and Bandy's dialogue was perfect, just perfect. So now we'll get a dinner with Faramir and Eowyn as well? That should be interesting. At some point it would be nice to see Aragorn and Legolas alone together--I think some of the courtly dialogue might slip a little between such good friends, especially since Aragorn is more inclined to whap the young prince upside his head. I'm looking forward to more! Author Reply: So far everyone seems to really like Bandy! I think I'll expand his character somewhat over what I had intended -- his dialog is very enjoyable to write. I'm not sure yet if Aragorn will "whap" Legolas, but he may verbally "whap" him before the end has come. Heaven knows it'll be appropriate! Thanks for your reviews! Le Rouret | |
