| This is cool; the way you have Linwe and Frodo's experiences intertwined. And the Tooks being strange...I loved that reference. I'm loving all the "strangeness" between this story and Pearl's Fear. I'll return again tomorrow. Take care. Pippinfan Author Reply: I would like to point out the interesting fact that Pearl Took's "While we Dwelt in Fear" and my own "Enigmaa..." were being born in our minds at roughly the same time, niether one of us beign aware that the other was going to use this concept of mental or spiritual awareness. It has made is challenging for both of us (Pearl more than me) to read each other's work and not have it overly influence our own or to feel we are copying. Admitidly, The reference Esme makes in this chapter to the Took's having a certain oddness about them is a tribute to Pearl's story. I have a fondness for referring to small details in her stories in my own and then seeing if she catches them. I know you are not much of a Frodo person yourself. I hope that you will still like the story as much when you are further along. I will say that the Frodo I have written here is the same Frodo as I percieved him in both book and movie form. I think one of my favorite aspects of the movies is that Peter Jackson and Elijah Wood seemed to see Frodo the same way I did. A person that is very simple and hobbity, when you take away the heroic deeds. It is getting towards my bedtime. I get very chatty then. | THAT is so incredible! I love how she feels what Frodo feels, and even has physical signs. (the bruise) I can't imagine what will happen when Frodo reaches Mordor... Yes, the Tooks most certainly have had odd going-ons in their bloodline. Oh, do update soon! (Although I believe that you update on...Mondays, is it?) Author Reply: Yes, I do try to post new chapters every monday. In hact I need to scooch along and be sure Chapter eight is at least partially presentable though it has not been through my editor yet. I felt that the best canidate to offer Frodo a chance at romantic love would have to be a lass who could on some level relate to what he has been through. Personal beliefs and expeariences of my own led me to the idea of their having these shared expeariences. I have had this story kicking around in my head for over a year. I went through many different scenarios on how this could play out before I settled on this one that I feel is the most believable.
