Good old Sam. He w/out a doubt knows his hobbits and pays attention to things others would only ignore. Because of that, he knows his Mr. Frodo's heart is about to be broken, but he also knows this is the best thing for all. Regardless of the heartache felt now, it is the right thing to happen, as the two really were not suited for each other. Thank you so much for the Birthday Present. I keep meaning to come back to LJ, but it's been one Hell of a year and it doesn't look to be letting up anytime soon. After what Mom did to me earlier this week...Let's just say it's a good thing the last time she pulled such a hurtful and trust destroying stunt like this a couple of years ago, she took out my full scale replica of Hadafang from my room and has not returned it to my room. Oh, I'm sorry. That's not what it really is. Oh no....It's according to Her Highness, "That stupid sword of yours is fine where it is for the moment." I swear to God on High there's a two year old little boy in Toronto who behaves far more maturely than his close to 85 year old Great Grandmother. And treats others w/a Hell lot more respect to boot!!! Then again, I should have expected this. After all, Her Highness' way of coping w/extreme stress is to take it out on me and in very cruel ways at that. Well, I reached my limit back in the Spring w/her and I am so beyond FED UP W/HER!!! Want a good laugh though? My Family Doctor and I have been trying to get me out of this Hellhole and into an Apartment of my own for two years now. Considering my Visual Impairment and other Health Issues, I qualify for the Assisted Housing program. Or so we thought. When we tried to get the ball rolling a couple of months ago and I had a phone interview w/the Social Worker from the Housing Authority, guess what she told me? You'll love this...I'm not Disabled enough. No. Not kidding and you should have seen the reaction from my Family Doctor when I told him that. He just sat and gaped at me in shock for a few minutes before asking me to repeat what I'd said. Anyway...Sorry for turning this into a downer of a Thank You for such a fantastic Birthday Present, but I am literally at the end of my rope and if I don't get out of here soon w/the way she's treating me and no one to either talk to or get me out of here for a couple of hours to let off some stress, then I don't know what will happen. I need help and I have been feeling like I've been screaming for it for years now and no one even bothers to pay attention. Either that or they believe the garbage Mom has been feeding them about me being "Silly, stupid, oversensitive me who lives in a Fantasy World..." Well, there is someone living in a Fantasy World in this house, but it sure is *not* me!!! As I said, I really am sorry about this. Especially as I was so delighted to see you'd remembered my Birthday when I saw this last night. Thank you again for giving me at least a little bit of joy during what is becoming a very dark time in this Family of mine. ((((HUGS)))) Author Reply: Well, if it gave you a bright spot in a rather dark time I am so glad! And HUGS right back to you! Been there, after all. And sometimes the so-called fantasy world is more real and more self-affirming than the self-absorbed idiots with whom we must contend as we try to be the best people we can be. Praying for you.

This is so sad for Frodo but it was what had to be. Sam never missed a trick when it came to the welfare of his master. Thanks for sharing with us. Author Reply: I suspect that watching Frodo fall in love with Pearl Took only to find in the end she didn't love him as they'd both thought must have been heart-wrenching for Sam. No, Sam never missed a trick, although it must have been hard not to speak up about his observations. Thanks so, Garnet!

Aw, Sam. It must have been so hard for him to watch all this unfolding, and not able to say anything to Frodo at the time. Author Reply: I so agree. Had he brought his concerns to either Bilbo or Frodo he might have appeared to be jealous of Frodo's care for his intended, to be seeking to cause unnecessary problems or carrying tales, so he had to allow things to work out as they would. I do hope you are sufficiently unpacked to allow you to resume writing again soon. (Hint, hint!) And you were going to give me the info to text you? Love from Pandora, Brendi, and my Lydia, who has been hinting she'd like some more canned food. Dear kitty! Hope your Pandy and the kitties are all behaving.
