Lovely. Sounds very true to Halbarad's character, in the brief introduction JRRT gave us to him. *sniff* Author Reply: I do hope that he died knowing that his sacrifice would not be for nothing. Thanks so much!

This was both sad and beautiful. I'm glad Halbarad died happy. He was a great man. Author Reply: I wish the Master had given us even more of this wonderful character as well, and I am certain he felt fulfilled in the end. Thank you so!

A painful but a happy death, blessed in its own way. I hope it ended this way, with the joyful knowledge the king would return. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: As Halbarad was also descended from Earendil and Elros, I suspect he, too, had the grace to go willingly when his time came, with joy rather than fear. And it has appeared that he had foreknowledge that once he passed through the Paths of the Dead he would soon die. He had to want for that death to mean something, I believe.
