| This chapter is all about hope renewed. Pippin and Durlin have to go on hoping on faith alone while Theoden gets some really good news. The only one who is still close to despair is Faramir, but he gets help in the form of Mithrandir. |

| Ah! At least Theoden has excellent news, and knows that he will bring new hope and strength to Minas Tirith in the person of Denethor's older son! And Pippin has reason to strengthen his hope. Durlin has been good for him. |
