Oh, very chilling indeed. Alas, poor Sam! (And I don't have to say the same for Frodo, though how ironic that the master of pity, in this scenario, deserves it far more. Thank you! Author Reply: And thank you, my friend! Hope your birthday has been a joyous one. I hope someone finds a way to remove that Ring from Frodo's finger without being taken by it themselves!

Oh my, that is indeed scary! Frodo IS the Lord of the Ring and Sam has to obey him whether or not he likes it. I don't know how this new situation will affect first the Shire and then the rest of Middle Earth, but there will be an effect! Author Reply: Oh, yes, so true. You are so right that there will be an effect, starting with white roses becoming red as blood! Heh!

O dear! I'm not entirely sure what's happened here, save that Frodo clearly didn't give up the Ring. Will you think me terribly dense for asking for an explanation? Whatever's happened, I feel quite worried for all our dear Hobbits! Kaylee Arafinwiel Author Reply: How do you think that the Ring might have completed Frodo's corruption once It took him in the Sammath Naur? You have good reason to fear for all of our beloved Hobbits, particularly as Frodo is apparently the most intelligent one of the lot, one who knows and is related to fully half the Shire, if not more, by blood or marriage, not to mention his ties to Buckland. After all, it appears that he might now be the (at least temporary) Lord of the Ring. Heh!

Too scary, glad this might have been never was! Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: I agree--I, too, am glad this didn't happen.

I liked this. It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. Author Reply: In spite of its rather macabre undertones? Thanks, Linda!

That was a disturbing start to my morning. :) So simple yet so chilling. Poor Sam, and poor Middle-Earth. Thanks for the birthday present. Author Reply: Sorry to give a strange start to your birthday. And I suspect that Sam will probably not call Frodo Master any more, except when he is being particularly ironic. Not the pleasantest of circumstances for him. And you are welcome. Hope it was a good one.

Ooh! Wow! So much in so few words. Author Reply: Indeed! Thanks so, Harrowcat! Love to your dad and the dog. Mine tried to poison himself, getting into a box of chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, and in this case the nuts were more dangerous than the chocolate. Silly little dog!
