Hooray! A story that touches on realities of life - or, technically, in this case, death - without turning into an angst-fest and without making the characters act in a manner unbefitting their true natures. :) Gimli's voice is excellent, as is Legolas', and I like that 'foresight' moment that Legolas has, if such it may be called. I shall have to make my way through your stories one at a time, and I fear you may be snowed under by reviews over the next week or so, but that should prove to be no hardship, if I'm correct. :D Author Reply: I'm so happy to know that you feel the characters ring true here. My apologies if I miss (or will miss) any of your reviews. This site no longer seems to send out email notifications of reviews or comments, so there's no way to know if one has come in unless I check manually once in awhile. Thank you so much for reading, my friend!

Wow. There was ... a lot going on there, in a lot of different places. I absolutely see wanting to be laid to rest in the company of the few other mortals, if one goes to the undying lands ... And I also think that Legolas's fear of entwining one's heart with mortal kind is very understandable -- especially given the grief and difficulties that he will have known even someone like Arwen faced at the end, despite the joy of her great love with Aragorn. It is nice to think that he might have been given some sort of encouragement to know he would be all right. Really liked this. Author Reply: Thank you. There was a lot going on in this short piece; I'm glad what I was trying to convey came through.

Another beautiful gapfiller. I like the idea that Legolas comes up with the idea of having Merry and Pippin laid next to Aragorn. And I'm glad that his vision shows him that he will survive allowing his heart to be intertwined with those of mortals. Author Reply: Thank you. I like the idea of the hobbits inspiring their friends even when not (physically) present.

Oh this was so lovely. I am so sorry I missed it when you first posted. I miss my hobbitses and long to return to my fic. Perhaps this week I'll be able to do that. Love to you, my friend Author Reply: Thank you, my friend. I hope I never run out of ideas that inspire me to explore the hobbits and their world. Love to you. ♥

What a wonderful idea! Aragorn laid to rest between two hobbit knights - and Gimli encircled by three hobbit Ringbearers. What an honor! And the title is perfect :-) Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea. May we always be in the company of hobbits.

That is a sad story but with hope for a better future. Thanks for to write this. Author Reply: Thank you, Drumy. I can never end a story without hope.

An ultimately hopeful tale. I loved this: “No fancy Elvish fripperies, mind. Good solid stone, and lots of it, that’s all a Dwarf needs.” It sounds so true to Gimli's voice. And that he etched Pippin's image, that rings true as well. I wonder at the age depicted by the image -- was it Pippin the Dwarf remembered from the Quest, or Pippin in his older age? And the healing that he foresaw in the vision. I'm glad you wrote such comfort for him. It reminds me somewhat of our relationship with our dogs, cats, and hamsters. They never, *never* live long enough. And yet, we are all the richer for having welcomed them into our family for however long they are given to us. this should have come with a tissue warning. I loved this so much, and when Gimli does pass there are a few Elves that can share in Legolas' loss, make it easier. Author Reply: Thank you for your kind review. This is a very special friendship indeed.

Sweet story, my dear. I hadn't thought of that with Gimli being buried near Frodo and Sam but of course that would make sense. It must be hard for Elves to give their hearts to mortals because of the inevitable loss but as Legolas discovers there is hope for healing. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you, Antane. As the Professor liked to emphasize, there is always hope. :)
