I found it very refreshing that in this day of instant communication you reminded us that it was not always so, that personal contact rather than rumours or stories go further in influencing people. I also loved the idea of your OC comparing Aragorn to heroes of old. They become much more impressive when there is a visual reminder rather than solely embellished feats performed by minstrels. It is hard to see anything comparing to such magnificent creations. If anything can though, it would be Aragorn. Cathy, xx (Who is once again awed at the seeming ease with which you can create such atmosphere and presence of character) Author Reply: Thanks again, Cathy!!! I simply hope that you arent disappointed with the stuff you've read after your return to the fandom. But praise is always welcome. ;) The idea for this story came totally out of the blue, and indeed, it is one of the reactions that the Argonath inspire in me - that there can never be a king to match up to those great stone figures. Its such a moving moment, both in the book and the movie, and it affected me so much that I simply had to write. But you're right....if anyone can be compared, its the Ranger. ;) Thanks again.

How nice to see you here! And this piece is standing up well after multiple reads. You know...you could expand on that OMC in another fic -- he certainly makes an impression and you make him intriguing in those first few lines. I'd surely like to know exactly WHAT he does, even if he is none of the things you mention. well done, Sphinx! Author Reply: Thanks. :) I dont know if I'll ever do anything more with that OMC. He's just one of those off-the-head characters that I thought of while trying to write this. But I shall try, if you like. ;)

Oh, very nice. Subtle, powerful. And brilliantly executed, of course. I fall in love with your writing everytime I encounter it. Well done. Author Reply: Thank you!! So nice to see you around, especially since I am still walking around with my mouth open after reading your story. Now Celeborn is being demanding. *sigh*
