Good for Merry! :-) And, distraction, ha! Sam knows what's really important ... :-P Author Reply: Bless our hobbits for always looking out for one another. :)

This is lovely. I fell right back into Middle Earth. Merry is already the strategist and looks out for everyone. Author Reply: Thank you so much for your kind review. I love to imagine the hobbits looking out for one another like this.

This is delightfully charming! Such a sweet portrait of hobbit friendship, and quite an intriguing take on the question of the "science" of magic. I also really enjoyed how you took a little side comment from the book and spun it into a whole scene that's entirely consistent with everything else we see from the hobbits. I also love the little twist at the end: Merry's a clever one! Thanks for this. :) Author Reply: Thank you! The Professor left us delightful gaps to fill, and tantalizing hints about many things, such as *how* wizards do what they do. I'm so happy you enjoyed this. :)

I've never thought about this, but I'm sure the Hobbits would. Lovely. Author Reply: Thank you, Linda. :)

Oh, but I bless them all! Delightful means to distract Frodo from what he's bound himself to! Ah, but this is excellently done! Author Reply: Thank you so much! Comforting and cheering up hobbits are two of my favoritest things.

It made me smile to see how the hobbits all have each other's backs. And they realize on such an instinctive level that the sustenance of the soul is intrinsically connected to the sustenance of the body - most especially where good food and drink are concerned. Thanks for reminding us again, Shirebound, that we could all do worse than to be more like hobbits. Author Reply: "An instinctive level" is a wonderful description of the hobbits' love and understanding for one another. Thank you for your lovely review, and for including me in this wonderful gift-day for Nilmandra. And it's a true pleasure to see you writing again.

I love it! I didn't suspect a diversion but I love Sam's thoughtfulness and loving care and the hope Gandalf would put a spell on a mug during the Quest. *hugs Sam* And you too for such a sweet story! Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you for the hugs and review! Sam is very pleased to get a hug as well. :)
