When he named his Sister's Children, I thought they sounded familar and sure enough... The likes of Timono always know how to play such as the Patrons of The Rusty Nail sadly, so no shocker this how thos Hobbits who were part of the Gatherers and Sharers were roped into service as such. By the time all is said and done, they are going to wish they'd seen the true reason "life isn't fair" for what it truly was, that they weren't willing to put in the hard work needed for life to be a bit more fair. Then again, it seems they never really do learn that little fact and go on about how it's not fair their "good fortune" came to an end instead. :o( Looking forward to seeing where you take this one and can't wait for the next chapter!! :oD Author Reply: Well, the next chapter is up, although it occurs actually in time previous to this one. We're seeing just how Lotho got into his role as tyrant of the Shire. Heh! You are certainly right as to why he doesn't appear to be doing as well as his sister and her husband! Thanks so, Tigger!

Founding member of the "Gatheres and Sharers" - a questionable honor! So, let's see to which exctent Otis' laziness is transformed into criminal energy. Poor Sweatpea - what a brother! Author Reply: I so agree--a most questionable "honor." And I don't think he'll be happy with the final result of his actions.

This is so close to real life that it's scary. Author Reply: I so agree, Tari! Thanks!

Oh, my. Quite the darker side of hobbits. Yet we know there were collaborators amongst the Shire folk, so this makes sense. Intriguing beginning. I really don't like Timono. And I think Otis had better watch his step. Author Reply: Indeed, the darker side! And Otis just made a major mistake, although it will be nearly a year before he begins to realize just how bad a mistake he's made!
