Oh how wonderful! I love stories in which Bilbo talks with Elves, and you have made this one seem so plausible. I do think Thranduil would have admired the little fellow who burgled his halls so thoroughly. And, after all, Bilbo had that special hobbit charm that brought him affection from almost all who met him. (Trolls, goblins, Gollum and Sackville-Bagginses excepted, of course.) And I do like a "good" Thranduil. I really dislike stories in which he's the Bad Guy.

Absolutely lovely, Bilbo's characterisation is incredibly spot on with Tolkien's own writing. I love your Thranduil, more so than I can say of the movie version. Can't wait for more fics from you!

A very charming little story! I was very sorry the movie seemed to miss out on this relationship (however brief) between Thranduil and Bilbo. Also loved your mentioning Thranduil being odd man out when it came to the Rings of Power. Fortunately even that had its upside in the end! Author Reply: Yet another person who wished they added that part in the movie! I always wished to see that part on the screen but it is wonderful we get to write about it still! ;) Thank you for reviewing, TolkienScribe.

No, not a memory to ever lay by. And they had reason to think on one another always with mutual respect. Author Reply: Indeed. Thank you for your review. :)

I enjoyed this conversation very much. I can well imagine this meeting taking place. You may have changed in looks but not so in spirit. May that ultimately be true of all of us! Author Reply: Yes! I hope so too!

You have shown well the effects of time on Bilbo. He is no longer the same adventurous hobbit with his aching knees and white hair, but inside there is still the same kindness and curiosity. It is good to know there are no hard feelings between Thranduil and Bilbo, and Thranduil thinks almost fondly of the dwarves' escape! I'm glad that you decided to give them one more meeting before Bilbo left Middle-Earth. Author Reply: Thank you! I really do think that Thranduil and Bilbo both crossed each other's paths at some point. At any rate, it does account for some interesting writing. :)
