“And that is where the importance of the sword lies. Not in its brightness or its sharpness or in the sword itself. It lies in what one chooses to do with it.” -- ooh. Just fits in so pefectly with the man that Faramir will be one day. cheers, Maya Author Reply: *grin* I figured Faramir could very well have learnt that from his grandfather:) Thanks ever so much for the review!

I really like all the lessons that were imparted to the two boys through this time with their grandfather. Lessons learned this way seem to be retained so much longer. Faramir's fears of Boromir leaving him relieved by knowing the swordsmen is ever in the sky; that the stars are seen by all, wherever they are, but perhaps mostly what I liked was hearing the words spoken by Adrahil The older man nodded gently, “And that is where the importance of the sword lies. Not in its brightness or its sharpness or in the sword itself. It lies in what one chooses to do with it.” for in this we hear the words Faramir spoke to Frodo at Henneth-Annun, about the importance of what the sword defends. That is perhaps my favorite quote of the book. Thanks for a wonderful story! Author Reply: Thank you Nilmandra. I’m glad you liked the story, and in fact the whole series, as also the insertion of Faramir's words to Frodo. It is one of my favourite quotes too. It's so simple and beautiful. His grandfather seemed the perfect person to re-inforce that idea in him.
