Thanks So much for this! Once I found you had made this available, I read through it first. It made the rest of the book go much easier! Thanks!

I've greatly enjoyed this entire thing. I began reading the other "story", the series of letters, and realized I was going to need some background. I startled my kids many times laughing out loud! The concern of Bandobras when Legolas leaves: "To go off like that without a proper breakfast!" was hilarious and exactly what a young hobbit would have in mind! I do think your fiction is among the best on this site. Please keep writing! Smiles, Tracey

Le Rouret, I have thoroughly enjoyed this tale from the very beginning. It deserves to be a novel in its own right. It reads like a good mystery, full of intrigue. I believe I've learned more about the nature of elves just from reading your story than I would anywhere else. I discovered things about Legolas and his kin that I would never have suspected. You've done a masterful job here, and it shows clearly in your writing. Well done :)

It has taken me two whole days, but I've finally gotten to the last chapter of this and the glossary you made for us. There are other words you used that we could all stand to have definitions of, but those are a great start. Thank you! :) Now, about this wonderful story you've written here...I LOVE it!!! What a most excellent job you've done and I applaud you heartily for sticking with such difficult turns of phrase. I know I couldn't have done it to save my life! lol Of all the original characters you pulled into this, and I don't know that he's original or not, but your portrayal of him is divine, Bandobras is absolutely ADORABLE and I would NOT mind learning that he had further adventures at some point. *vbg* As Legolas feels so fatherly toward the little tyke, I don't understand his reluctance to wed and perhaps have children of his own. *giggling behind my hand at this point* The letter at the end, with Gimli's additions and admonitions, cracked me up something terrible and I had trouble reading for tears of laughter. *snickering still* Do please write more as soon as possible as I admire your style and love the way you've painted the world of Tolkien's characters here. Wonderful, just plain wonderful! :):):)
I don't remember what I called myself last time. | Reviewed Chapter: Author's Notes on 11/3/2003 |
Thanks for the glossary! And thanks for using the terms to begin with - it shows that you actually put a lot of thought into your story. Also, I forgot to complement you on your excellent writing. I can see how the style that you've chosen could be very difficult, and you are doing a splendid job. Keep up the good work, and I'll be interested to see how you develop this story and especially Bandy's character. Author Reply: Dear I-don't-remember-what-I-called-myself-the-last-time (catchy title, by the way), Glad you like the glossary -- I haven't had to alphebetize something since third grade. It made for an interesting exercise. Hope it helps, and I'm glad you like my story! Le Rouret
