This is so beautifully written, the way you have portrayed Halbarad's steadfast loyalty to Aragorn is extremely moving, especially since he seems to have more in common with his kinsman than we may have suspected! The diary found in his belongings is an especially poignant element and a reminder of the price he ultimately paid for his loyalty.

Windfola, I have read this story before on another site, but can't remember which one. I loved it then and loved it even more the second time. It just flows! I loved the unusual approach of finding letters from Aragorn and Arwen's youngest daughter. The archivist was such a wonderful character. I think I would have reacted much the same as he did...squirrel away with the new found treasure and read it before I told anyone. And it was a treasure. This piece is so well written. Your command of language and characterizatons is just terrific. I'm so blown away by the whole thing...every element...that all I can think to say is that it is just beautiful! :>) Karen

The ending of this was so moving. I also have to say that I've always wondered about the conversation of Aragorn and Halbarad in the tower. This was a very satifying version.
