| Well seems I've stumbled upon another of your wonderful stories, Shirebound! I like how this reads so far. Thrust right into whatever is going on, there's little exposition and just plain hobbitiness to catch up with. One sentence caught my eye however: “What purpose to a Dwarf’s life, in his own mind, without stone to cleave, gems to cut, caverns to explore or excavate, a means to forge or craft whatever they might desire for themeselves or others?” I swear, reading this, you either sat and watched the Lotr movies a million times or read all Tolkien's works regarding Gandalf. You captured his sound, his verbal communication and yes, wit!, with just a few words. Could almost hear McKellen speaking them! Not only that, the sheer spirit of that sentence, capturing the heart of what a Dwarf truly IS. All I can say is WELL DONE! Author Reply: Oh my, thank you! What lovely comments. | A cliffhanger! I can't wait to find out what Gandalf's idea is. :-) Frodo and Sam still alive and well when Gimli and Legolas arrive = perfect happiness!
