| That was exactly the right thing to do. His compassion is what distinguishes Frodo from many others. But if I imagine how Lobelia must have looked like at that moment I think that even Bilbo would have forgotten all his animosities against the S.-B.s and would have reacted like Frodo. Author Reply: Frodo responded to his experiences by becoming filled with compassion and caring for others, quite the opposite of Saruman. As for Bilbo reacting similarly, I suspect you are right. He was good hearted, after all. | |

| Beautiful. How right Saruman was about how much Frodo had grown. And Lobelia. Journeys through darkness changed them both. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Oh, and how true that is, Antane. He has grown so much even his mercy could feel harsh to such as the fallen Maia.
