The Revenge of the Wood-Elf (Telerius galadh)  by Orophins Dottir 5 Review(s)

Poor Elrond - everyone thinking he's cold and unfeeling. It makes me just want to give him a hug. Yay, they found Zippy! " "You can talk." He laughed at that and stroked her hand. "Aye, and I thank you for finally noticing after well over a year, nay, almost two. However, you were very funny with all those gestures you used to communicate with us. Oft it was all we could do not to fall down laughing at your attempts." "-Haha, that must have been embarassing. I can't say I approve of the liason between BW and Zippy, because I'm hopelessly old-fashioned about some things, but I'm glad they're getting married. The adoption was sweet, and I really liked the scene between Galadriel and Celeborn.

Author Reply: Be gentle with these young ones. They know they did wrong and have repented. Celeborn lectured them and Galadriel read them the riot act off page. They will most definitely marry. Zippy is not about to lose sight of BW again.

Thank you for the review.

This is like the fic that can't decide what it wants to be. It started out humerous but has taken such a turn! There is something epic about it. Oh dear. I begin to gush. I don't know what I would do if Celeborn and Galadriel wanted to be my parents. Probably die of a heart attack. Of course, at this point, I look far older than them, so they probably wouldn't offer.

**ponders if Celeborn and Galadriel find it wierd to see their mortal children age and grow old and toothless**

You know. Its a really odd thing. I must ponder upon this.

Author Reply: Face it. Celeborn and Galadriel are fashion icons even to the other elves. EVERYONE looks bad compared to them, even with all their teeth and no wrinkles. They will cope with an aging mortal daughter and grand-daughter.

Thank you for the review.

It is with regret and, yet, great relief that I inform you of your liege's near death experience. When he heard the words spoken in regards to "Lord Celeborn's wife", it was his misfortune to be dining on a bunch of the self same vintage of grapes as Haldir. I am most glad of heart to tell you that your lord will be well again. He needs only rest a short time.
This was my favorite paragraph...."Nay, I am not dead, nor even close if Lord Elrond is to be believed. I was overcome by the sun and old wounds and my lack of food and weariness, but he tells me that indeed I am not dead. I need only rest Elrond tells me and to eat more than I want. Not such a bad thing, and I am glad I am not dead. And what of yourself? Are you dead, my lady?" So...he's not dead....
And now knowing that Zippy is, yet, among the living, he and the young mortal maiden "know" each other!!? Oh, my lady, this is indeed ill news. I must tell you that I have spoken none of this to his adar and will leave that to one of his kinsmen to give such fell tidings. It might also go well for all who may to be in some other realm on that day. Haldir has long wished for me to travel to the Golden Woods and allow him to give praise of its beauty. I shall think upon this arrangement.
Alas, e'er I do depart, it behooves me to bring great praise and song to your glory for this recording of events is most well done and pleasing to the ear....(with the exception, of course, of the 'ill news'). It is truly my pleasure to embrace your words and bid you to continue in this tale. I do, however, beg that you give advice in what manner you wish to inform your liege of his son's betrothal.
Your most humble servant and Shield Mama....The Karenator

Author Reply: Ai, you know not what evil we face for even as I snatch a moment to answer you my dark elf marches to confront his father's wrath. He has offered unto his lord his own knife and his fair throat that Thranduil's blade be not stained with the blood of his son! Ai! Hast thou heard of prozac? Where may we procure it swiftly? Failing that, can you procure a barrel of Lake-Town's finest and pour it down my liege's throat? Lady, we must swiftly take steps e'er Legolas and his brother enter Mandos and, in sooth, may we all be dead and beyond even the skill of Elrond. I think that Legolas charm, while great, may not be enough to secure another chance for himself and his brother and that speaks not at all to our own lowly selves.

Haldir is ever thoughtful. I think I feel the need of a count of the mellyrn leaves in his fair forest. Canst thou fetch Asfaloth and muffle his bells so that we may make our escape?

Ok, I laughed and cried, and then laughed some more, and then took something for the headache for having to read these fell speech patterns....

Can I be jealous of BW? I want an elf! I just love the thoughts of each character - and I love Zippy and Legolas being brothers and the way they are close to each other without being *too* close. And I want Galadriel to forgive Elrond. I, too, know the pain he has suffered at the loss of his lady-wife....

This is truly amazing - I am impressed you can keep up the fell speech patterns so well (and yes, I know that is not what you mean by fell speech patterns!).

Author Reply: Elrond was for you, dear lady! I told the Karenator that she might have to shelter me in her spare chamber as you were waxing wroth at my treatment of the Peredhil. I do really love Elrond. It's just that he's so controled and he's surrounded by all these heart-on-their-sleeves elves. I ache for his sorrow, but I just cannot resist. *Bad Dottir! Evil Dottir!" I think I shall retire for the nonce and eat grapes with Haldir.

"Lord Celeborn's wife" -- Yes! Yes! You go, BW. Holy cow, Zippy is Galuviel, or should I say that the other way around? And BW, that lucky girl, is in the bed with Legolas AND Zippy (and Arwen, but who cares?).

Oh yes, Galuviel and BW "know one another," in what I assume is the Biblical sense. Excellent. But where are the details? :(

The scene between Galadriel and Celeborn was beautifully done. What a sad fate Celebrian's was.

I loved the way BW was starting to talk like those around her.

Author Reply: *assumes stern posture* Details of "knowing" shall remain off page, young lady! Besides, that's what we have our lovely little imaginations for! I'm glad you liked the Celeborn/Galadriel scenes. I'm always a little nervous when I write about them for they are one of the two pairings closest to my heart. Galadriel and Celeborn and Legolas and Gimli. What an odd assortment! Love and strength and loyalty comes in all types of packaging.

I am pleased that despite being short and plain Tingalen is doing much better in elvendom than any of the Mary-Sues waiting at the Havens. Poor Gil-Galad to have them in his care! Although, he is probably the best elf for the job. Cannot imagine the noble spear carrier being vulnerable to them.

BTW, I believe yours is the fastest review I have ever received. I bow low to you.
