| This makes a lovely, and I am sure deliberate, pair with the other Yule snippet that you have just published. I don't think that I have read anything else that covers this period. I found your take on Lindir to be interesting and quite in keeping with the conversation between him and Bilbo in the hall of Fire when Frodo comes. I wonder what Lindir made of four more Hobbits turning up on the doorstep. | |

| this may have been a gift for Shirebound but we are all enjoying it. This is a transitional period that we see very little of in canon and that hasn't been given much treatment in fanfiction either. Really really nice job, both on Bilbo's story and also on that of the elves getting ready for him. Thanks loads for your hard work on this, very much hoping to see further chapters if any are planned. Author Reply: Thanks! I've set a few little stories in that time period, but I always enjoy revisiting it. I've always imagined that Elrond had a bit of foresight that Bilbo would return to Rivendell at some point, and rather looked forward to having him with them. One of the best things about writing (or receiving) a gift fic is that not only the one it is meant for can enjoy it, but everyone else can enjoy it as well! | |
