| I came home from out of town to find this chapter. Yay! I loved Estel cutting his own hair in a Mannish style. It's an impulsive, believable declaration of identity. I thought his mother might be horrified, but her reaction suggested so much of her own hopes and memories. The journey home must have seemed long after his adventures. You could almost hear him thinking "Are we there yet? How many more miles?" I'm sorry this story is almost over. Author Reply: Yes, I'm sure it seemed forever -- the end of any long trip does, when you're trying to get home, and then given all he's had going on lately, it probably seemed like they would never get there. | Hooray! Home at last, and in Mother's arms, each knowing the other has been safe. But there is one Ranger who has a good deal to reveal, and another who will see others unmasked that Aragorn not find himself with no one to lead when he comes to his manhood. Author Reply: Yes ... a lot of things discovered on this little jaunt, and there will be a lot of follow-up work for Dorhaur and the Elves....
