| Oh my, what a wonderful chapter! I love Merry and Pippin and their determination, just as I have always thought of it. I especially loved the way Merry carefully tried not to influence Pip's decision. And now we know how strongly Aragorn feels about Frodo. He is definitely ready to defend his "little one". | |

| Ah, I love irrepressible Pippin! He understands - he doesn't, really, but for what little he can understand he is willing to risk. Sam is just wonderful to with his protection of Frodo, and Merry as well. All of their motivations are so clear - and really - when one thinks of all the meanings in Lord of the Rings it is a story of love. Love of friends, of good, of what is right, of sacrifice and duty. I like how you have captured that so well in the hobbits and Gandalf and Aragorn. | |
