This was a really good chapter. The armor of God passage felt very poignant in the context of the kids going out to fight a darkness that is physical and very real. I want to give Kaylee a hug and I am glad Gandalf used Narya to comfort her. Boromir will be a good choice to teach the kids and Hobbits how to fight. Thanks, atealgirl Author Reply: Yeah, you're telling me! If ever there was a time when the McCloud children are going to need the armor of God, this is that time. I know what you mean about Kaylee; this is going to be hard for her. I agree about Boromir being a good choice as a teacher. K.G. Author Reply: I think that you will see that staying behind will be very good for Kaylee, not to mention be important. And I have always liked the idea of Boromir teaching the hobbits their fighting skills. It is a bit of fanon, but it makes sense, so it is possible that he did so. Author Reply: Again, sorry--this was DF again!

KathyG I have to get to bed but this story has been far too good! It has been keeping me up! I am really enjoying it! But I must get to bed!! :-) MM Author Reply: Well, thank you very much! I'm so glad you're enjoying it so much, and I know that Dreamflower is, too. Don't let our story deprive you of too much sleep, though; you need to be able to function when it's time to get up, you know! =) K.G.

I'm glad that Gandalf found a way to use his own ring to strengthen Kaylee. And they're right--Jennifer, too, would do well to receive some training with a weapon, not just the boys. Author Reply: I am glad, too, and I agree with you about Jennifer.

Poor little Kaylee! I'm so glad Gandalf was able to comfort her. I'm still wondering what part the four McCloud children, and especially Kaylee (and Lucy) who must stay behind. It seems Boromir's going to be giving the young hobbits *and* Kevin and Joey (and Jennifer?) weapons training. I found myself wondering if the kids will think of the armor as "the armor of God", which it kind of is, isn't it? This is all so exciting! Author Reply: Hmm. That's something to consider! And it's fortunate that Gandalf was on hand to comfort Kaylee. Author Reply: Yep, it sure is! Kaylee is going to be kept busy while her siblings are gone, so she won't have time to pine for them too much. Hmm. The armor of God! That's something to consider, isn't it? =)

Boromir must think that Elrond and Gandalf lost their mind to allow the children to go on this kind of journey :-). But this is ME and visions are very important. Author Reply: Yep, it sure is.
