| This story is so adorable! Poor Elwing writing to parents she can't remember. Both Elwing and Earendil are precious. I love Earendil's ernest promise to defeat Morgoth little knowing that it would come true. And I love how Earendil and his parents adopt Elwing into their family. | I absolutely love this! What a sweet snapshot of these two children, and great foreshadowing for their future lives. You do a really nice job of capturing young kids' voices and thought processes (e.g., Elwing talking about "the difference," and Earendil's opinions on how one should and shouldn't try to go after Morgooth). | Little do Earendil and Elwing know what they're going to end up doing, once they're married! For now, at least they can enjoy each other's company. I kind of feel sorry for Elwing, being stuck with a nurse with such strict ideas of being ladylike! Author Reply: (Wow, my first review on SoA! Thank you KathyG!! :) ) Yes, indeed, they have no idea what being married means! LOL! And what *their* married life will be like, particularly. But they will definitely enjoy each other's company. Elwing's Nurse is named Saelrien. I didn't know that when I first wrote this back in 2010, for Levade, but I've written a little more of her since then. She's close friends with Niniel, Galadriel's chief lady-in-waiting (and mother to Haldir, Orophin and Rumil). | |
