| I like the little loving moments between Gail and Steve at the beginning. I think they are going to have a tough time realizing just how much their kids have grown. Steve's idea that they would go after the children made me laugh because they have no idea how far the children have traveled and don't realize that it would take them months to catch up as well. | Awww, yay, I really love how the McClouds are settling in. Steve and Gail have so much to learn, but all the Elves and Bilbo are willing to help them, and Eledhwen's been doing so much to help Kaylee. Gail's realization that Eledhwen has been Kaylee's nanny struck me as funny, for some reason - I can't really figure out why. Maybe I was trying to picture her as an Elven version of Mary Poppins? More her than Nanny McPhee, I guess, LOL! :) Author Reply: LOL! Well, being an Elvish nanny, I reckon she has her own brand of magic. =) Yep, the McClouds are definitely settling in. They're all going to return to Oregon changed people! | |

| Gail and her husband have a good deal to learn now, and Gail needs to accept that in this world even children must learn self-defense. Author Reply: They certainly do, and Gail most definitely does need to. | |
