Yay Joey saved Boromir! I am very glad Joey and Pippin were able to convince the Orcs to leave Jennifer alone or that could have gone very badly. I am glad that you kept their escape as the book has it; I always like how clever Pippin was to get them free.
Thanks,
atealgirl

Author Reply: Dreamflower and I saw no reason to change the way they escaped. And yes, Boromir lived to tell about it, and to learn something! =) K.G.

I'm so glad that Boromir survived! I do hope that remains the case, and that the *Four* Hunters will catch up with Merry, Pippin, Joey and Jennifer soon! Good for Jennifer, leaving signs behind for the remaining members of the Fellowship to follow! This story is really exciting!

Author Reply: Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it, and so is Dreamflower, I know. Yes, we wanted Boromir to have a happier fate than the one he got to have in the book and the movies. Unfortunately, not all of the characters who die in the book will survive in our story.

Author Reply: Actually, it's Five Hunters, this time. And we are glad he survived this time, too. He'll have a bigger role coming up.

Jennifer's a smart young lady, and though she's terrified, she's also determined to take care of her brother and her friends as best she can. DF

So, into the woods they go, fleeing the fight and into the welcome of Fangorn Forest and Treebeard. Good enough!

I'm of as northern of northers European stock as is possible, although my ancestors were mostly early comers to the American colonies. Some fought on the Tory side in the Revolution, while my father's family were among the Patriots. Was born to an Air Force family stationed in Central America at the time, but Dad died when his plane crashed when I was still a baby and so I grew up within the U.S. I studied Spanish in school, and helped a former student who had been born in Guatemala with her Spanish studies, doing a lot of brailling of her textbooks when we couldn't get them from other sources. I read Spanish far better than I speak it, and have read LOTR and the Harry Potter books in Spanish as well as English as well as the Bible. I began collecting translations of the Bible when a fundamentalist classmate in college kept telling me that my different interpretation of the Bible was due to not reading an accurate one. Comparisons of the various translations have shown that they all say basically the same things; it's not that the KJV, NKJV, Phillips, New Jerusalem, or New English have the interpetations wrong, but that her specific denomination was picking and choosing verses so as to appear to support what they wanted their parishioners to believe. Same thing with the Watchtower Society and how JWs are indoctrinated. About half my translations have Jonah being swallowed by a whale while the rest read "big fish." Even my Jewish translations are unclear as to what specific creature swallowed Jonah. Had a LONG argument with one correspondent about that one as he kept insisting it was a whale. Apparently the exact nature of the creature was less important than that he was brought to land by it still alive and capable of thinking and speaking, while George was certain that what swallowed him was what was important.

So,

Author Reply: It was a big fish of some kind, whatever kind it was. It could well have been a whale!

Yep, they've escaped, and now they're in Fangorn Forest.

Author Reply: I grew up with the KJV in Sunday School, and I also read a lot of books in grade school that were full of "speaking forsoothly", such as Howard Pyle's version of Robin Hood, Ivanhoe, and so forth. So that's the version most familiar to me, and I love the language.

OTOH, in college I took Koine Greek, and began to learn the inaccuracies of many translations (the KJV not the least of them).
