I love the sense of renewal and old grief all mixed together in this chapter. Tolkien in a nutshell.

You bring the worlds to life in these little bits and pieces, so vividly I can see the scenes. Eowyn's hair coming loose to blow in the wind as she talks of good hay for horses, and Faramir's gaze going to the graves. I doubt he ever forgot where they lay. I love her response. Of course she understands, she was on the field during that bloody day and, as odd as it sounds, I'm so glad that she understands in a deeper way than words could say. Faramir needed someone just like her, and aren't they just perfect together? Author Reply: Thank you so much for the lovely review!

A lovely little piece of Faramir and Eowyn's married life. I loved the recognition that they are both soldiers.

she understood as only another soldier could. That's a wonderful gift for such a wonderful man. Author Reply: It is easy to focus on the differences between the two of them, but they also had a great deal in common. Thanks so much for commenting!
