| Yay, the King is coming! Eirik is quite the charmer... "a time to look back... to look forward... to the beginning of the light" -- I wrote my proto-Hobbits (long before the Shire was established) as having much the same attitude to the Solstice. It seems logical. But you have brought me a new thought to chew over: Elessar fought against the Darkness and brought the light back to the world. Indeed. Oh! Oh! Beregond! My absolute favorite amongst the Men that JRRT described for us. How lovely to catch a glimpse of him here. I ought to have expected him to be nearby, but I wasn't thinking. I love the way you write Faramir and Eowyn individually and together. Their well-earned joy leaps from the page. (ooo, the description of the hobbits' first breakfast is making me hungry...) "I can't take him anywhere!" hahahaha! Not a model to be followed. Could win the prize for understatement of the year. Ah. Strider-the-healer is momentarily seen. And a tug at the heart at mention of Boromir... All in all, a completely satisfying respite from the busyness of the day! Author Reply: Lindelea! Yes! Aragorn makes his appearance and I'm thinking he loves coming to Ithilien because he can relax a little. In Minas Tirith he must be "King Elessar" but in Ithilien while visiting Faramir and Eowyn he can be Strider a little bit more. But wherever he goes he will always be the "bringer of the light" and hope. I do really like cheeky Eirik! He makes his first appearance in "Bound by Duty; Bound by Joy" I think the Solstice probably could bring on reflection. The shortest day and the new light might have the effect of hope and new beginnings. I love Beregond, as the Captain of the White Guard I figure he would be in and out of Faramir's home and seat of government. Wish his character hadn't ended up on the cutting room floor of ROTK. So glad you like what I have done with Faramir and Eowyn. I just want them to be happy! I'm really happy that it is working! Merry and Pippin are just so much fun to write. Cheeky little sods! :-) Denethor has left too much of a mark on Faramir to ever be completely forgotten but Faramir is slowly healing from the damage caused by "that horrible man" as Eowyn calls him. Granted she is a little biased, but still! There will be a little more of Aragorn the healer later on. Boromir will of course forever be in Faramir's heart. Thank you so much for the review! Yeah!! MM. P.S. in reference to Archery in your Farry story, I first learn to shoot with a long bow in a Renaissance Archery guild! I loved it. I have also never quite warmed to a compound bow. The most technological I have ever gotten is shooting a take-down Recurve bow, which is fun but I also haven't shot in years. Would love to get back to it! | |
