| It was a choice she made. i hope that her sons and what warmth she received from her husband helped her accept that choice for as long as she could bear it. Author Reply: Larner! So very true. | How she must have missed the ocean! We live a couple hours' drive from a beach with high cliffs and dangerous pounding waves ("Never turn your back on the ocean"), though I have also swum off a southern beach with sloping sands and deceptively gentle waves (just before lifeguards shouted warnings of a riptide). What sort of beach do you imagine here? Author Reply: I imagine a cooler coast. Something of a rocky coastline and the ocean stretching forever. Always breezy. that kind of cold breeze that blows through you and invigorates you. You always have a sweater handy and you can walk the beach for days! I live about a 2 1/2 hour drive from a beach like that. The Central California Coast. MM | |
