| Yes, at that moment all would stand still to learn the fate of the Ring, and by extension, their own fates as well. Too bad Boromir was so fatalistic. He should have had more faith, having found himself beside the King Returning and having seen Frodo's basic strength of will. Author Reply: Yeah, no kidding! Fortunately, because Boromir survived to continue the Quest, he will find all of that out for himself. K.G. Author Reply: Yes, our Boromir will have learned the lesson and lived to apply it. DF | |

| Hah. This ought to make our beloved Dreamflower laugh. When I brought up SoA this morning, the quote of the day at the top of the page was ‘Comfort me not with wizards!’ said Denethor. ...which my dyslexia rendered as ‘Comfort me not with wizards!’ said Dreamflower. And now I can just hear her saying that, and laughing. Author Reply: Too bad that had not really been Denethor's mindset, huh? LOL! Things would have gone so much better if it had been. K.G. | What a dreadful and oppressive day for all of them. Poor Merry, there were so many times during the Quest that he must have felt abandoned and alone. Author Reply: Yeah, no kidding! | (Yes, I've used the concepts, although not the actual word "duenna". I have consistently written my hobbits as quite old-fashioned. LOL! Must be the influence of all the old books we read over the years. | He had to stand on tiptoe to wash his face; if it were not for the extra height granted him by Treebeard, he would never be able to reach it. This is the kind of detail that brings writing to life. I've been wondering how you would handle this particular moment in time. Well done! (The repetition of "Time halted" is especially effective.) Ha.
