Oh! Your explanation of the pipe-weed blend and its effect on Glorfindel makes perfect sense! Thanks for making that clear. I forgot to mention, I was also reminded of Tom Sawyer (or was it Huck Finn?), when the boys sneaked away to play pirates and smoked a pipe... Author Reply: Lindelea! Well Estel is definitely sensing he is up to some sort of mischief by smoking a pipe! So we could say that comparision works very well! He certainly doesn't want Elrond finding out! Mischievous little imp! MM

"The crinkly wizard", I love that. Perfect from a child's POV. This is absolutely delightful! What a fun gap filler. Author Reply: Shirebound! I am so glad you liked it! I just thought what would happen if Bilbo accidentally encountered a 10 year old Estel in Rivendell! And obeying Plot bunnies this story was the result! I just imagined how Martin Freeman's Bilbo would respond! :-) Thanks again for the kind words! MM

At last had time to read. Delightful! Estel is what my dad would have called “all boy”. His first acquaintance with a Hobbit! Lovely! “Not dressed for dinner” — hah. I bet there’s a wizardly expression for that resembling “A Wizard always arrives exactly when he means to.” Hmmm. Something about pipe smoke spoke of “home” to Glorfindel? Did I get that right? I read in haste as my phone’s battery is almost out of juice. Author Reply: Lindelea! So happy you liked it! It was a fun little story to write. Plot Bunnies must be obeyed when they demand you write something! :-) "All boy" most definitely. Estel has grown up secure and surrounded by those who love and encourage him. He has no fear. About Glorfindel and pipesmoke. Yes you did read that right. Ingredients of the pipeweed were cherry leaf, peat and Athelas. Nobody other than the Elves at this time realize the curative and calming properties of Athelas, known as Kingfoil to the Hobbits. They all think it is just a weed or maybe something to be added to pipeweed. As result the secondary scent that Glorfindel smells is vaguely familiar and as Athelas brings to mind happy memories, it reminds him of his home and happy times in Gondolin. Thanks again for taking time to write! MM

hahahaha! I haven't time to read this yet, but the summary all by itself is both intriguing and hilarious! Looking forward to reading this later. Hope this finds you well. Author Reply: Lindelea! The idea just came out of nowhere while I was writing it! Hope you enjoy!! MM
