| Cool look at the beauteous influence of the Silmarils on the world. I believe Dr. Boccocio is a nod to Fiondil. Who does Dr. Fox refer to? | The Valar are wise to yet keep it for the sea creatures! They only use it unwittingly to live. Lets keep us ignorant a while more to their existens. I love your idea for the Silmarils to illuminate the world . | Oh, but what a lovely imagining! I've watched videos of deep-sea dives into the marine trenches, and the amazing variety of life that they've found. One sea creature that has always intrigued me was the little fish that carries a light on a long extension in front of its face, almost as if it is carrying a lantern to light its path as it swims along. And the many, many varieties of minerals, with their unique colors and properties... A fascinating thing to contemplate. Author Reply: Yes, the underworld (both marine and land) is wonderful.
