Hi Ellynn I often wondered what happened to the book Balin.

Thank you for a wonderful version of what could have being. I'm glad it came home.

Ah, but the pain--and comfort--knowing the truth at last has brought both of them.

So excellent, Ellynn!

He was right to bring the book to Dwalin. It was most thoughtful and appropriate. Alas for Balin and his party, and for the loss of the dream of reestablishing the ancient home of their people, though.

Well thought out.

This is a wonderful reunion, and I'm so glad you wrote it.

But when I saw everything... I realized. It is no longer Khazad-dum. It is Moria.

So true, but so sad. *sniff* Gimli is very special, and I can well imagine him doing and thinking exactly these things. The Book needed to come home, and into the hands of another very special Dwarf. You show us their hearts so beautifully.

I believe you have the heart of a Tolkien Dwarf. You do a beautiful job at looking at the world through their eyes. And you know, once Gimli got to Edoras, he would have known that the real war was beginning. What better place to leave that book. And what a lovely idea. After Dain, who had more interest in the story in that book than Balin's younger brother! Of course, P.J.'s very vivid screen images will affect my vision for the rest of time... your old, gray-haired Dwalin bears an older, more wrinkled and worn version of Graham McTavish's face in my brain! You have given us a window into their world.
