| The children's letters are delightful. This bit made me chuckle aloud, to the cats' astonishment: He's been kind of like a big brother to me when Kevin wasn't around but shorter. Thank you for a lovely respite. Author Reply: You're welcome. What did your cats think? =) You can be sure Steve and Gail are thrilled to hear from their older children. And words probably cannot describe the children’s reaction when they receive a letter from their parents from whom they've been separated for so long! | The communication has finally begun, and all hearts are relieved now. Explaining U.S. history would be difficult, I suspect. But it is good all know that different civilizations have different protocols when writing to a war zone. Now, to await the arrival of the troops! Author Reply: No kidding! In regards to the protocols, I'm sure you're right. At any rate, Steve and Gail are extremely relieved to know that their other children are safe, and are so very eager to be reunited with them.
