Let Sleeping Dogs Lie  by Lindelea 3 Review(s)

What a great story! I like how you set the Haradrim to be the rescuers of Pippin, Bergil and Mittens.

Author Reply: It's interesting to go beyond good/bad, friend/foe, or black/white thinking and explore the grey areas. Who were the Haradrim before Sauron exploited their weaknesses? What kind of common ground exists, though perhaps not obvious at first glance, between Harad and the Shire and Gondor and Rohan? (While I haven't gone so far in my imaginings as JoDancingTree, who made an Orc a relatable character in one of her stories, I do like to ponder character and values and the potential for change.)

Thanks!

That the Haradrim hazarded their own lives will be most honored by the new King of Gondor! Most clever to use the ironwood spear shafts in such a manner. But how far in is Mittens?

Author Reply: Now if he can just convince them that Gondorians don’t eat people for breakfast...
Mittens is quite a way in, about a leash length beyond where Bergil and Pippin ended up, as should become evident in the next installment. Whew. Nearly there!

Good to hear from you. Thanks!

Hooray, the warriors understand what the sounds they're hearing truly mean, and are able to show their compassion and quick thinking. This is so promising for everyone!

Author Reply: Yes! Spot on. And the Healer King is about to arrive, and Frodo and Merry are just around a bend in the road, so to speak, so things are definitely looking up.

So nice to hear from you. Hope that you and yours are well.
