Either Aragorn is in a kind of nightmare or time loop or I'm missing something. phrases like: and the cold that he had thought all-consuming seemed suddenly a distant warmth. and tip of a sword whispered at his neck. were in chapter 4 but unlike 4 I think Aragorn's caring for a single elf, not two so each repetition has changes. In this chapter he hears his name so again you leave us wondering who is addressing him and why and what about the sword point at his neck? In my case I'm also relieved that I'm not trapped in such a hopeless dream. Oh, the many forms of evil! Author Reply: Nightmare time loop it is! Ah, the Black Breath — a good time for all … Thx again for your comments!

"The great crown turned toward him, and black fear drove all else from his mind. He flung himself onto the tiles, dragging his frozen cloak over him to escape the dark King’s notice." How sad that Aragorn is swamped with self doubt. He's panicked and frozen in place at the same time. Knowing the Dark King is looking at him he covers himself, flimsy protection that is no protection at all like a turtle or flamingo! With a sword tip at his neck you ended not only with a cliff hanger but with Aragorn defeated and hopeless. Aragorn appears unable to save himself. Who will save him? It's thrilling that in these days of very slowly trickling fanfiction you are updating so regularly. LOTR fanfiction hangs but on a thread and if you don't keep it going, no one will! No pressure. :) Author Reply: Lol — got it! :-D Thx for your comments, they’re much appreciated!

Eeee, such suspense! Whether the journey lasted five minutes or five millennia he could not say To go through something like this would be an unforgettable, life-changing experience. Author Reply: Yes — you’d figure it would have to be something pretty memorable to draw his comment to the Hobbits in Bree all those years later! Thx as always for reading! :-)
