Oh, Dear Writer, you really had me! Absolutely masterful use of person and point of view! I went back and re-read, and oh, yes! The horse of course knows that he could fight one attacking wild animal, but what wolf or orc ever comes alone? Seeing the tricks behind the curtain of the magic act only brings more appreciation for the act! Oh, by the way. Have you been following Lindalea's 10- year-old Bill the Pony story? You both think like horses. Very well done. Author Reply: Thanks again! *hugs* I'll check the story ;)

You're a magnificent writer Ellynn. I haven't read such a beautifully written fanfic for a while. The use of different POVs is especially effective. Yeah it makes makes lot of sense, the kids are young and don't know the way but the horse does an faithfully caries them to safety. Cheers for loyal Garulf! Author Reply: Hehe, read my reply to Demeter D - all four parts are from Garulf's POV! 😀 And thank you so much for the compliments, you put a big smile on my face!!!

Oh goody -- another one of your delightful twists where we don't know who is telling the story until the end. I had to go back and re-read the earlier parts in light of what the ending revealed, and then it all made sense. And of course Rohirric horses are very intelligent and care very much for their humans. They usually don't get enough credit so I'm glad you give this one a say. Author Reply: Awww *melts* This review totally made my day. Thank you so much.

The first three sections are clearly from big brother's point of view. He joins the long line of children who have been forced to grow up more quickly in a time of hardship. Then the fourth starts. The narrator first comments on the "little mistress". What big brother calls his sister that? Then narrator comments on "the little master" and I knew! So we have an adult horse who was born and raised in Edoras. Of course, he would know the way home! And of course, the human mother would know that! And no, brave big brother, you are not alone without weapons or protection! You have the sharp hooves, strong kicking legs, sharp teeth and loyal heart of a brave Rohirric horse. You are most definitely not alone! You did still have me, as the narrator says "I was the first one awake". Not until the horse observed the state of "the young master" did I remember that there were THREE parties on that desperate flight! Very well done! These point of view stories are so much fun! Author Reply: Yep, I love to play with POVs, and I love twists! So I'll tell you: all four parts are horse's POV ;) Take a closer look. First part, "I wish there were something that could comfort her". A brother would think "I wish I could comfort her", or he would even try to say something comforting. But (as you know now) we are in horse's head, and he simply wishes there was something. Second part - dialogue. You have a bare dialogue, without tags and without real emotions. You have only dialogue lines someone listens to, but doesn't participate. As this is 1st person POV, there would be at least one "I say" or "I reply" - but there isn't! Third part - there would be more emotions about mother if this was Eothain's POV ;) Yes, I do love to play with POVs 😀 Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! *hugs*
