Excellent description of the battle with the wolves. Love the continuing evolution of Merry's descriptive renaming! And love that Pippin continues to be aware of the needs of Sam and Bill for protection during the whole process. Author Reply: I have to say, I skimmed over the "wolf battle" in my past readings, or at least I hurried through reading that passage. To write from Bill's perspective, I had to slow way down and read carefully, trying to note every detail as well as keep track where each character was throughout. Thanks so much for the praise! I'm glad the description works.

Hi Lindelea I've recently started reading this story and I'm impressed by the way you portray the events from the view point of Bill. I love his voice and inner monologue. And the names that Bill has for all his companions are hilarious especially 'so-called-Merry'. The Rivendell and Caradhras part were especially amazing and I'm really looking forward to know about Bill's solo adventures after Moria. Although I'll always regret that we'll never know what Bill thought of Lady Galadriel... Author Reply: Hello Leithian! *waving* Glad to have you here! Pull up a chair; a fresh batch of scones is about to come out of the oven, and the tea in the pot is freshly brewed. It's fun to hear your impressions, and I hope the story will continue to please. Poor Bill – the time is rapidly approaching when he will be forced to fend for himself. I had to hold firmly to the story's ending to be able to get through writing those intermediate chapters. I can tell you that there are several surprises in store. Thanks for reading and taking the time to share your thoughts!

Then, as if to distract the others from his actions, lest the older cousins should unintentionally shame the youngster with expressions of concern, he adds in a louder, heartier voice, ‘That was an eye-opener, and no mistake! Nearly singed the hair off my head!’ I always love it when hobbits conceal their keen perceptions and sweet actions with distracting banter. :) Author Reply: I completely agree! That was one of their endearing qualities that won my heart, the first time I read the book as a young teen. (((hugs))) Thanks for reading and pausing to share your thoughts.
