So that's how they got the Silmaril out of Doriath ;) Always wondered. I'm guessing that was the real Silmaril that Nimloth held up above the battlefield. I don't think anyone could have created a fake one that would rival the light of the sun like that. So she must have swapped it out at some point after that? And of course, we don't find out until Curufin does. Great writing! Author Reply: Yes, you understood my intention perfectly once again! Somehow, I accidentally deleted your last review—really sorry about that! 😭 (I can’t believe there’s no confirmation prompt?? I thought I was just returning to the reviews page! 😩) I think Sad But True is the most depressing story I’ve written, and in some ways, it feels like an indulgence in explaining things through a very focused (and thus limited) lens. Inevitably, that led to a rather extreme perspective, shaped entirely by the character’s viewpoint. Honestly, I doubt I could still write stories of the same nature—but it captured my thoughts at the time, and it still holds its ground, so I don’t regret creating it. :) | |
