(Is this the one you lost? It was still in the archive of my own reviews, so I copy-pasted it and here it is again:) Your stories are getting better. I'm glad you didn't take such a "cynical" (as you call it) view of the Sons of Feanor in this one, especially Maglor as the peacemaker and Maedhros as the leader. "Amazing, fantastic, and brilliant Elves," as another reviewer called them, and you captured some of that. Addition: I think the other reviewer I quoted was Lindelea, but I’m not sure because it looks like that one disappeared too. Maybe it wasn’t just you. I hope they’ve got this thing fixed. Author Reply: Yep, this is the one I accidentally removed! Thanks for recovering it! :) Looks like your quote is from Leithian, and their comment is still intact—hopefully, this is the last of these accidents! 🤞

Read this through... and it is so poignant and so touching... “𝘈𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥,” 𝘔𝘢𝘦𝘥𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘴 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵, 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸, “𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘍ë𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘪𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰.” No I won't cry, absolutely not, but I am... These are such amazing, fantastic, brilliant Elves and you've captured their voices and thoughts so well, I love it. I once read a phrase somewhere "Better to burn, than to fade away" and you know, I consider Feanor and his sons the personification of this phrase. Thanks for sharing this incredible piece of work, and I do hope it will break my writer's block as well. Take care Author Reply: Thank you very much! Similar to Sad But True, I wrote this with the intent of explaining—if the kinslaying at Alqualondë was the result of a sequence of unfortunate events, then the kinslaying at Doriath is far harder to justify. I wanted to see through their eyes and, in doing so, understand why. I’m glad you found it somewhat convincing. :) And—best of luck with your writing!
