The Ride of Eorl  by Arnakhor 3 Review(s)

"Gondor came to the aid of Arthedain when Angmar attacked near six hundred years past. I had no armies no fleets as they did in routing the Witch King, just my sword. To have turned my back on Gondor in its hour of need, no matter how modest my contribution" I like this long ago reference.

I always love how you portray the wise, twinkly-eyed wizard Gandalf. He is always humble and witty and well… you just portray Gandalf as I always see him in my mind.

And I particularly like the start and ending of the story in the Prancing Pony. This Inn has seen much history during its long tenure in Middle Earth.

Arnakhor!

I didn't leave reviews on every chapter, which is what I usually do because the story was such a page-turner that I wanted to read it as quickly as possible.

I really loved this story! You covered this portion of history so very well and really made it come alive. I am fascinated with the Rohirrim as much of my own writing will attest. There were a couple of times I was late for work because I wanted finish the chapter I was reading. LOL!

The detail of the battle and troop movements and strategy was well done and showed a lot of hard work.

thanks for this!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your kind review! I did research battle strategies and tactics from the Romans through the early Middle Ages to help me grasp what was at stake. I did stick to the thin details on the whole thing provided in Tolkien's works, from the journey of Borondir, some details of the ride of Rohirrim down the Anduin and the brief description of the battle itself. So there was much to fill in and an opportunity to give the reader the perspective from all the players good and bad. So glad it was a page turner!
