| Ooh! So, Bill's bloodline is known within Bree, is it? Most interesting! And a healer is needed apparently north of the town of Village. Curiouser and curiouser! Author Reply: "Old Rushlight" may be Bill's Old Man of Archet, or he may simply be related or acquainted (since Bill never mentions his old Man's name, it's difficult to tell at this point). Yes, another nearby community desperately needs medical supplies, and a healer into the bargain! So of course the good people who are left in Bree (now that they've run all the scoundrels out of town) will do what they can... Thanks! | |

| to this day I still do not know where they are bound, nor have I the slightest inkling as to why they must make the endeavour. All I knew for certain – and still believe – is that they were and are trustworthy companions. Bert, young as he is, has also proven himself trustworthy over the relatively few days of our brief acquaintance. And so, together as one, we forge onward at a gallop, into the unknown. You so beautifully enter -- and communicate -- Bill's thoughts and heart. Author Reply: Thank you so much. I'm sure a lot of it comes from reading oodles of horse and dog books in my youth, written to show the animals' viewpoints as much as the humans'. Maybe I should tackle a story about cats next, considering that their behavior features in my daily entertainment these days. But then, Warrior Cats has probably already got that idea covered, from what I remember of the Wee Hobbits' discussion of some of their favorite book series over the years.
