Hi, I read this a bit ago over at HASA. It’s funny, isn’t it, how a fairly insignificant line like this will hatch into a plot bunny. Well, this one turned into a nicely written and interesting piece, though I’d probably have preferred falling on his sword or slitting his own throat to hanging himself. A nicely done, all the same. :-)

Yes, this one really came out of nowhere, after reading those lines.

Falling on one's sword is messy business, as is slitting one's throat. It was going to be pretty awful, no matter his choice, and being of the Rohirrim, the more leather involved, the more realistic it was.
