| I read this a long time ago on ff.net. This story got me into the Gildor stories and made me wonder even more if he was the son or grandson of Finrod Felagund. I like the part about the knives. It makes this story seem to span ages instead of just the First Age. I didn't even realize that there were dwarves like these. I completely forgot about the petty-dwarves. Maybe it's because they are mostly in Turin's story and I don't like that one. It's suprising this was written in two hours. To me it's too well written to be written that fast, and it's long. Terrific writing and please continue. Maybe another Finrod story?? Author Reply: I swear it was written in two hours - not counting the beta work, of course. I'm really glad you liked it. :) I don't know if there would be another Finrod story any time soon. I've so many unfinished projects already, and the Dwarves are demanding their due, too. But we'll see how inspiration hits. | |

| Soledad, this is a great story for only about or less than two hours work! I liked how you did the story from the suffering character's PoV. The description you used was easy for me to understand the character(the petty dwarf) almost immediately! Oh yes, FInrod the peacemaker! He is very kind to the dwarf who thinks of him as an enemy, but in the end they both learn something of the other helping to not cause more strife in their world of Arda Marred...*_* Also, the end where you mention that the knives are evantually given to Gildor(supposedly Finrod's grandson) adds a sense of myth and endurance to them and their importance and lastly how they connect through the long ages of Arda... Namarie! Author Reply: Thanks. :) I always thought that the Petty-Dwarves were given bad press for no reason - of course, I violently dislike Túrin, so I might be slightly biased... | |

| This was also a great story, thank you for pointing me to it. Your theory about Gildor is a good way to reconcile Tolkien's idea about him being Finrod's son with the fact that in LotR he was called Inglorion. Author Reply: Yes, that was what gave me the idea of making him Finrod's grandson. He's one of my favourite Elves, especially since there is so little known about him that you won't contradict canon very much, no matter what you do with him. *g* | |

| very nice story. I enjoyed it a lot! I love the way you portrayed Felegund and his open, admiring, respectful, generous heart. I like the old dwarf too. Just goes to prove how under-rated dwarves are as creatures of great depth of feeling. very well done! hope you write more stories. I like your style. Author Reply: Thank you.
