Aw did you have to kill Bergil off, I really liked him? Anyway, so far it is a really great story. I like stories that involves a serious argument between Legolas and Aragorn because that is what makes a friendship even stronger and more interesting, because there is so much stories based on perfect friendship that you believe that they NEVER fight, but that only weakens the friendship. I loved the relationship between the blind woman and Bergil (Blinky) I really cracked myself during that hilarious conversation, it brought a little light into the dark story and thats what I appreciate, it also showed, that despite their differences, they would protect each other in any way they can. I would've been a similar friendship that Legolas and Gimli have. And I loved the part when Legolas remembers back when he was an elfling in standing in front of his father's throne and when Thranduil pulled out of thin air what Legolas had done, hee, hee, hee. Ooh, I'm dying to find out what is going to happen to the stone and if they are going to be captured by the Corsairs or they are going to save Gimli or are they ALL going to be captured well except of course Bergil who is in fact dead, OH WHY!? Why did you have to kill him off, I was really fond of him, he is the only one I know in the story who is still young and innocent at heart and who likes to speak his mind and is always cheerful, now it will be too solemn without the bickering between him and Blinky. Anyway I'll say peace out and don't keep us hanging PLEASE. J.G.E.

I know for a fact that I have reviewed this before, at another site (fanfiction, to be exact). But I re-read the piece and couldn't resist dropping another review, it was so good. Again. I actual think thet Bergil's death was more stirring the second time through, as if knowing it would happen made me pay more attention to the words. Gah...strange are the ways of me. I'm *still* waiting for an update. You know that your fic hasn't had a chapter added for a while when I (I!) can read it once, go three months, then read it *again* before the next update. I think Bitaliel is slowly turning into one of my favourite OC's of fandom. I hate to think what Bergil dying will make you do to her...*glares* I really enjoyed his last thoughts, morbid as that sounds. You conveyed them very realisticly, at least to me. I'm still not over the cliff-hanger from the end of chapter seventeen. I was desparate to know who it hit! I almost couldn't touch the 'Next' button. Almost. Update! Update! If not this fic, at least 'Cantrip.' I'm trying to not go insane while wriaking my brain for things that Halbarad will do to the poor, Elvishly-raised mortal who used to wash with *lavendar* soap... Till the post! (May it come with the speed of a 450 horsepower engine)

What a passsionate story you are writing. I just discovered it and am quite intrigued. I see you have not updated for some time. I hope that does not mean you have forgotten it or simply gotten bored because I certainly am not. That was really very sad what you did to Bergil. Its very powerful to be an author isn't? What horrible things do you have in store for our elf or ranger? Please try to update this story soon as I can think of little else.

YOU KILLED BERBIL!!! You deserve much torture. If this story does not turn out well, I shall come to inflict them upon you. Sincerely, Morgoth

At last, a chapter. Two actually. But what have you done? Bryn! You killed off the kid! No!!!!! Okay, well, I suppose you had your reasons. Bummer though. I liked the kid. Gosh this(these) chapter(s) moved quickly. I almost had trouble following everything that happened, and for a minute there I was wondering why the pirates didn't just take the Silmaril from Legolas. But then they did, so I was appeased. And then I began to wonder why Legolas didn't fight harder. But he did, and again I was appeased. But then the Mortsdil quelled his spirit somehow, and I grew totally confused. What did he say that stopped Legolas from struggling? Was it something about Gimli? Where is Gimli? Still being keel-hauled? Can he survive that? And is the death of Bergil meant as a sacrifice to Morgoth? Is Legolas being handed over already? But what about Gimli? Shouldn't someone be doing something about Gimli? Who's going to rescue Gimli? Or Legolas even? Morgoth is not such an easy contender you see. Okay, Bryn, I know you are eager to get on with your other stuff, but you can't just leave us hanging there like that. You are going to provide more soon, aren't you? Aren't you?

Nooo! Not Bergil! How could you let him end like that! But even a King was not capable of dismissing Death. That was heartbreaking, really! But, though I'd rather see Bergil return to Minas Tirith his former light-hearted self, I can understand that things like his death are sometimes a necessary part of a story, painful as it is. For Aragorn, Bergil's death must evoke dark memories of Halbarad's untimely passing, especially since Bergil reminded him so much of his former friend. Which makes it all the more painful. Furthermore, I cannot get quite rid of the feeling, that Bergil's blood served to 'feed' Mortsdil, or rather Morgoth through him. And the prospect that the good guys face are rather grim: Gimli is, as far as I remember, being keel-hauled, Legolas is taken captive, I doubt that Aragorn and Bitaliel are free to leave that cursed beach other than in Mortsdil's company, and, worst of all, Mortsdil has the Silmaril. fliewatuet
